Educators who want to have discussions and engage with their other communities can use Public Permission. Public Permission allows participants to join by simply having the Join Code or Link. There are no additional passwords needed to view the Topic or Group. Public Permission should not be used with students and should be adult communities only. For students, educators should give Permission using Student Emails or Student Usernames.

All Public Topics and Groups will have Topic Moderation on by default. Educators have the option to turn this setting off within a Topic's settings.

Setting up Public Permission

Log into your free educator account at admin.flipgrid.com
Select the Actions button to edit your Topic or Group or create a new Topic or Group
Scroll down to the Permissions section. Select Public
- Anyone with the link or Join Code can view the Topic or Group.
- In order to record a video, participants must log into a Microsoft or Google-managed email.
- Flipgrid recommends participants be 16+ years old or have parental permission to participate in Public Topics or Groups.

Share with Participants

Share the Join Code of the Topic or Group with your participants. Participants can enter the Join Code at flipgrid.com or on the free Flipgrid app.

Participants will need to verify their identity to record a video by logging into a Microsoft or Google-managed email account.
