With Flipgrid, students do not create accounts. Educators provide students a Flip Code and students enter this on the Flipgrid app or at flipgrid.com. The Flip Code also creates a shareable URL (e.g., flipgrid.com/FlipCode).
All Flip Codes will be a random string of lowercase letters a-z and numbers 0-9. Educators can customize the Flip Code associated with their Grid (Topic or video Flip Codes cannot be customized). Here's how to customize your Grid's Flip Code:
- Access your free educator account at admin.flipgrid.com.
- Use the Actions dropdown and select Edit Grid (not to be confused with editing a topic).
- In section 1, you can edit the Flip Code using lowercase letters a-z and numbers 0-9.
Each Grid, Topic, and video has their own special Flip Code. Remember, sharing a Topic or video Flip Code will allow students to navigate to anything on the Grid once they verify they have access via email, student ID, or QR code.
