Educators can view their Educator Dashboard by tapping the blue button, which takes them to admin.flipgrid.com. Everything else within the app, such as logging in to a Grid and recording videos, is exactly what your students experience.
New to Flipgrid?! Here's how to get started:
Step 1: Setup an Educator account
Create a free Flipgrid account by tapping the blue Educator Dashboard button or by going to Flipgrid.com on a browser. Sign up for an account using your email by selecting the Microsoft or Google buttons.
Step 2: Create a Grid
Your Grid is your classroom. Name your Grid. Select the Grid Type, or access to your Grid, which includes:
- School Emails - Allow students to join using their school emails. If their emails are slightly different from yours, be sure to add those to the Grid as well!
- Student IDs - If your students do not have emails, Educators can assign a Student ID to each student. The Student ID can be as simple as the student's name, initials, or whatever's easiest for them to remember! Just be aware Student IDs are case and space sensitive.
- Public and PLC - Share your Grid with your community with just a Flip Code! There's an option to create a password for more security if needed.
Once you've created your Grid, you can customize your Flip Code. Your students will use the Flip Code to access your Grid!
Step 3: Create a Topic
Topics are your conversation prompts or assignments! Empower your students to share their voices by creating a Topic or use our introduction Topic, Say Hello on Flipgrid, to get started.
Step 4: Share your Flip Code with your students!
Share your Flip Code or link to your Flipgrid with your students. Students do not need accounts to join your Grid. Rather, they will enter the Flip Code at www.Flipgrid.com or on the free Flipgrid apps, or go directly to your link. They'll sign in with their school email or enter their Student ID and can start their video by selecting the green plus button!
